Servus to less alcohol
25. July 2019Storch wines claim to be the best the cellars of Burgenland have to offer. These high quality, youthful and fresh wines can be enjoyed every day. In Burgenland, where the sun shines just that critical bit more and Lake Neusiedl acts as a natural heat accumulator, conditions are ideal for growing the grapes used in the Storch series. This unique region provides a habitat for the stork – symbol and indication of a protected natural landscape, as well as a good luck charm to people since time immemorial.
The harmoniously full-bodied taste of Storch Spätlese Weiss has been delighting Austrian wine drinkers for many years – as a result of which the decision was taken to add Spätlese Rot to the portfolio. The origin of Storch Spätlese Rot is the Seewinkel, where typically Burgenland grape varieties flourish. The sandy soils, the microclimate and the high humidity around Lake Neusiedl are responsible for the growth of noble rot, Botrytis cinerea, which enables special quality wines to be produced in limited quantities in good years.
